For rest, where do we turn?
How do we remove tension and restore our equilibrium?
What offers repose to the body, rest to the mind and peace to the heart?
Every activity of life springs from a source that is silent. This silence, stillness, and calmness reveals the original state. It is the effect of the original source. It is the reality from whence everything has come and to which everything returns.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
—Matthew 11:28-29
”He whose understanding is free from attachment in all things, who is self-conquered and completely liberated from all personal desires, by renunciation attains to supreme perfection wherein consciousness rests in its transcendental serenity.”
—Srimad-Bhagavad-Gita 15:9
“Peace is the supreme desire of the human heart. All our aspirations and efforts seek their completion in peace. In subjective quest or in objective pursuit peace is the substantiation of absolute realization and the evidence of final achievement. Peace is not a psychological abstraction. It is a spiritual reality. It is a reality which is more tangible than the objects of sense perception. It is discerned by the mind, felt in the heart and realized in the soul.”
—Swami Premananda, “The Blessedness of the Inner Life”
