As the sun rises in the East, we awaken to the beauty and power of light. As the stars glow in the night, all darkness seems gently punctuated by glittering sparkles of illumination. And as life reveals the source of light, the soul is guided to that divine reality from which the whole universe is projected.
“God said, ‘Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.‘ And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.”
—Genesis
“God is the light of the heavens and the earth.”
—Qur’an
“It is the light of lights and is known to be beyond all darkness. It is knowledge and the one reality to be known. It is realized by wisdom alone. It dwells in the hearts of all.”
—Bhagavad-Gita
