Sunday Bulletin
We recognize the shared life and revealed wisdom of guru and disciple. We find it in the dialogues between Socrates and Plato, Krishna and Arjuna. Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, and countless others have shared with their disciples parables and stories that continue to enlighten our lives. Yet, we also recognize the personal embodiment of spiritual ideal. It reveals to us that which we sincerely seek.
“Humanly imperfect, divinely perfect, guru is the image of our ideal. If we cannot recognize divinity in the human form we will not recognize it in formlessness. In reality, guru is our own self. Guru is the one who reveals to us our own soul. Guru is the self-revealing one. It is God whom we see in guru. God is the Supreme Guru, in reality the only Guru. God is revealed to us in our human guru.”

“Hear thou yet once again my supreme word, the most profound of all; because thou art my dearly beloved, therefore will I speak for thy good. Fill thy heart with me, be devoted to me, worship me, and dedicate thyself to me. Thus thou shalt attain unto myself; truly do I promise thee, for thou art very dear to me.”
Srimad-Bhagavad Gita: The Revelation of the Supreme Self

”The disciples of the Enlightened One, who seek self-enlightenment devote themselves ceaselessly to overcoming the desires of the finite self.”
