Sunday Bulletin
Renunciation is not merely the discarding of the objects in our life. It is not relegated to living a life of isolation, nor to living a life devoid of family or friends. Renunciation is the overcoming of negative qualities and self-limiting thoughts.
“When mind is no longer oscillated by the gravitation of finite propensities and hopes, our consciousness reaches its state of purity. And in this subjective purity, peace of soul becomes the reality of joy. Complete inner renunciation is a prerequisite to joyousness. All that is finite and negative within us must be discarded by self-transcendence. That is true renunciation. Inner renunciation brings subjective freedom. The peace of subjective purity and freedom is joy."
