Speaks on "Innate Divinity"
Sunday, March 13, 2106 at 11:00am
What is our true nature? Are we “born in sin” as some would have us believe? No - we are soul, born of God. As children of God, the purity, perfection and peace of God are our true nature and birthright. Let no one tell us otherwise. During this Lenten period preceding Easter we focus on renunciation. What is it that we renounce? Simply put, we renounce all concepts, attitudes and habits that veil the perception of our innate divinity as soul born of God.

From Gurus and Swamis: AUM
Pure is my heart, my Lord, for my heart is thine altar.
Pure is my soul, O Spirit, for my soul is thyself.
Infinite is my love, O Beloved, for thou comest unto me only in love.
—Swami Premananda, “Prayers of Self-Realization”
The universe is the manifestation of One life and Consciousness. Thus every created being is a partial and valid representation of the same divine reality. This Pure Consciousness, evolving through all species, from the amoeba to a Buddha or a Christ, is destined always to fulfill its potential, the realization of Absolute Perfection.
—Swami Kamalananda, “Reflections on Still Waters”
All souls are created by God. Let a man contemplate upon the truth, reality and qualities of his soul and he will attain to the realization that he is a spiritual being, a divine spirit endued with all the attributes of virtue and righteousness.
—Shyamacharan Lahiri, “Sayings of Shyamacharan Lahiri”
Noble Thoughts:
"Within this earthen vessel are bowers and groves, and within it is the Creator:
Within this vessel are the seven oceans and the unnumbered stars.
The touchstone and the jewel-appraiser are within;
And within this vessel the Eternal soundeth, and the spring wells up."
—Kabir, " One Hundred Poems of Kabir"
"These rivers, my dear, flow, the eastern toward the east, the western toward the west. They go just from the ocean to the ocean. They become the ocean itself. . . That which is the finest essence - this whole world has that as its self. That is Reality. That is Atman. That art thou [Tat tvam asi]."
—Chandogya Upanishad
"In this return in love in the divine ground every divine way and activity and all the attributes of the persons are swallowed up in the rich compass of the essential unity. All the divine means and all conditions, and all living images which are reflected in the mirror of truth, lapse in the onefold and ineffable waylessness beyond reason. Here there is nothing but eternal rest in the fruitive embrace of an outpouring love."
—Jan Van Ruysbroeck, "The Adornment of the Spiritual Marriage"
