Sunday Bulletin
Yogis and mystics have used all manner of training to awaken resonance of Cosmic Vibration. The ascetics would blow the sankha shell or horn. Monks would ring church bells or sound temple gongs. Much later these religious sounds were interpreted merely as calls to worship but their original meaning was far more sublime. It was the reminder to find and heed that sacred inner sound.
“Listen! We hear thy Word: AUM.
In the music of the spheres
in the psalm of David,
in the pharaoh’s hymn,
in the sloka of the Vedantist,
in the bhajan of the worshipful,
in the mantra of yogis.
The muses know thy name, because Thou art
the invocation and the benediction of all.”
—Swami Kamalananda
The Forest of Forever
“Let all my songs gather together their diverse strains into a single current and flow to a sea of silence in one salutation to thee.”
—Rabindranath Tagore
